Photo report of the first meeting with children - WikiPet portal
So, the first swallow is launched, and the flight was successful. The meeting took place ...
We will not hide, everyone was worried - both people and dogs. How will our pets behave in a new place? How will the children react? Will everything go according to the developed plan? Moreover, one of our girls-dogs Charlotte was out of order for physiological reasons, so Salma and Jet had to cope together.
Already at the first steps along the corridors of the Center, it became clear to us that the scenario would not work here. Each passing child wanted to come closer, touch, stroke the four-legged guests. Some mothers and educators brought in strollers or walkers - the children themselves tried to get up and reach for the dog. Someone cautiously watched aside, but bolder, joined the chirping crowd.
Our Labradors quickly got used to it and, imbued with the importance of their mission, welcomed the children.
Ten minutes later, Alma, if she had not been a girl, complacently fell onto her back and set her belly up for petting.
The readings took place in two groups - the elders and the kids. In the first group, they began with the adventures of the parrot Keshi. But the children decided that it would be more interesting for Jet to listen about relatives, and the following readers switched to books about dog breeds. Our Wikipet team was very happy to watch this.
After the readings, no one was surprised by the participants' questions about the education, feeding, training of Jet. Having watched our specialists, several children tried on the role of dog handlers - they began to command the dog with an authoritative voice and asked to control the leash. Then they took the guests on a tour of the Center.
And at this time, in another group, the kids told Alma everything they knew - tales, stories, even the alphabet and poems about the new year. The daredevils were supported by applause and presented souvenirs. Moms and dads did not lag behind - they also wanted to impress the four-legged guests. Here the readings ended with a gentle hug.
Farewell dragged on - the selfies that the Center’s pupils did with our heroes became the climax of the event. We understood that the goal was achieved. It may not have gone the way we planned, but this meeting helped the children to become free and become bolder in their desires.
The keynote of this day was the question: “When will you come to us again?” We have outlined new plans ... But more on that another time.
